How we prepare a Business Continuity Plan

We use a five step process which follows the guiding principle of the British Standard BS25999, to prepare a plan that will ensure your business is protected in the event of a crisis.

  • Analyse the business – this will give us the understanding of how your business operates and identifies activities that you undertake that are essential to the running of your business.
  • Assess the risks – this involves considering – with you – the risks your business could face, determining what impact they would have on the business and devise the appropriate ways to manage the risk.
  • Develop the strategy – includes making decisions about people, property, IT etc. This will then form the backbone of the Business Continuity Plan.
  • Develop the plan – this involves documenting the decisions made in steps 1 to 3 and includes all the necessary contacts you require (customers, suppliers, employees, recovery centres, maintenance companies) to respond quickly and accurately to a crisis.
  • Test the plan – the final stage – this ensures the Plan works and we then set up a process for you to regularly review and test it.
