Pandemic Planning

There is a plethora of information available to you about Pandemic Flu covering:

  • What it is
  • What phase the Pandemic is at
  • What individuals can do to minimise the risk of contracting the flu
  • How to obtain a Tamiflu prescription
  • What is happening with the vaccination programme
  • What the likely sickness rates will be

This information is helpful in keeping you up to date and informed – what it doesn’t do is help you plan for a pandemic impacting on your business - and it will have an impact.

This is the significant difference between a Pandemic Plan and other forms of Business Continuity Planning (BCP). If someone suggests you should have a BCP you actually can’t disagree but it takes time, cost and knowledge. You then start to think about the likelihood of fire, flood or break in and decide to put it on the back burner.

BUT

We know a Flu Pandemic is going to happen, and we know it’s going to impact on your business.

WHY

  • Because up to 35% of your staff will be off at any one time for 2 to 3 weeks, and not just your staff but those of your customers and suppliers which will also impact on you.
  • Loss of staff will be the key issue for most employers.
  • The Pandemic will run for about 15 weeks, so it is not something you can just work through in the short term.
  • It is probable that quite quickly after this Pandemic, an outbreak of more virulent flu will reach Pandemic status quickly.

BE PREPARED

We know businesses that plan are more likely to survive and prosper.

So where do you start?

Firstly, request PLANDEMIC - our Pandemic Simulation planning tool - to explore some of the broader issues and impacts on your business (see recommended system requirements below).

Complete the form with your details and we will email your free copy just as fast as we can.

USING PLANDEMIC

Once you have received your copy, open PLANDEMIC and enter current resource levels, staff information and then start running the simulation. You will run through a 15 week Pandemic outbreak. Staff will be randomly selected to become infected; during each week we will show you what your resources will look like and raise some of the challenges that you could face.

In a very short amount of time PLANDEMIC will give you an insight into what could happen and enable you to determine your level of readiness.

Alternatively we can personalise the tool for you, and/or facilitate the simulation process by running a workshop for you and your team, enabling you to benefit from our planning experience. Call us on 01295 711527 to discuss further.

WHAT NEXT?

In most cases we believe companies, after running PLANDEMIC, will realise they need to get prepared. So where do you start?

We recommend purchasing our Pandemic Action Plan, which will provide you with a framework to ensure you collect all the planning resources and key information you will need.

The Plan will ensure:

  • You have to hand all the information you need
  • You will have thought through the wider pandemic and business continuity issues
  • You create a robust and reliable plan of action
  • You will not be reliant on a few individuals who may not be available when you need them

To purchase a Pandemic Action Plan, at a cost of £85, either click here or call 01295 711527
